2008-09-08-07:29 - Obama at the RNC

No the Obama campaign didn't hack the Republican convention, but it is funny what you can do with a video editor and a blue/green screen. It is an improvement over the Walter Reed Middle School back drop.

2008-09-08-09:52 - Christian Fundamentalists Define Loving
I think part of the conflict we call the cultural war is caused by sides using different meanings of words. For instance, us progressives think that when two people care about each other deeply and want to get married that would be loving. Pastor Dave Allison however thinks this is loving.

Why anyone would want to worship a god that hates love is an exercise left to the reader.

2008-09-08-18:40 - Still losing their bearings
In a move that will warm the hearts of lemon socialists (not to mention foreign lenders) the Bush administration has announced plans to nationalize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the top two mortgage lenders in the country. This provide McCain's running mate a chance to demonstrate she too is losing her bearings.

While McCain can't tell the difference between Shiites and Sunnis, Palin demonstrated her lack of understanding of economic matters.
Gov. Sarah Palin made her first potentially major gaffe during her time on the national scene while discussing the developments of the perilous housing market this past weekend.

Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." The companies, as McClatchy reported, "aren't taxpayer funded but operate as private companies. The takeover may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization."
