Several months back I posted on how the landmark Lawrence v Texas case which overturned the sodomy laws, was sited to overturn the ban on dildos. It is easy to make fun of conservatives sexual ideas. But these ideas go back a long way, Christians have opposed masturbation and dildos for a long time.
During what was probably a more tolerant phase[1] a Saint Albert The Great, decreed what the appropriate length of penitence was appropriate for various sexual sins. Among this list were:- Mutual masturbation
- Coitus in terga — anal sex (with a cleric)
- Semenem in ore — oral sex
- Masturbation (men)
- Coitus retro — rear entry
- Women who use sex toys
- Dorsal sex (woman on top)
